The city’s name comes from the Nahuatl word “Huaxyacac,” meaning “place of the guaje trees.” Oaxaca is renowned for its rich indigenous cultures, colonial architecture, and vibrant culinary scene, particularly its seven traditional moles. The historic center of Oaxaca is a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its well-preserved Spanish colonial buildings.

Orizaba

Orizaba is a city in the state of Veracruz, situated in east-central Mexico. The name “Orizaba” is derived from the Nahuatl word “Ahuilizapan,” which means “place of playful waters.” The city is located in a valley at the foot of Pico de Orizaba, Mexico’s highest mountain. Orizaba is known for its picturesque colonial architecture, including the Iron Palace and the Cathedral of San Miguel Arcángel. The city also has a rich industrial heritage, particularly in textile manufacturing and brewing, with the famous Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma brewery founded there in 1896.
