The following list includes a list of the major cities and towns in China organized alphabetically. China has more than 700 locations. The ones with little or no population have been removed.
It is important to note that the Mandarin language used in China has its own alphabet and writing system, which is considerably different than the Latin alphabet – the one we use for the English language -. Because of this, the names of the various places have to be transliterated to their closest-sounding approximations.
Behind every link, you will find data for each location such as its population size, state, and other fun facts about each.
