The National Museum of Brazil, located in Quinta da Boa Vista Park in Rio de Janeiro, is a prominent scientific institution that houses a vast collection of over 20 million items spanning numerous fields, including zoology, anthropology, archaeology, and paleontology. The museum has been closed since a devastating fire in 2018, with ongoing restoration efforts since 2019. Visitors to the area can enjoy the expansive park surroundings, which offer spaces for picnicking and recreational activities. Although the museum is currently under construction, it aims to provide an enriching experience once reopened.

While the museum’s extensive collection is not currently on display, it previously featured significant artifacts, such as dinosaur fossils, Egyptian mummies, and indigenous Brazilian crafts. The institution was established by Emperor Pedro II and represents Brazil’s oldest scientific establishment.
